Well, I'm finally on leave again :) A really good time to be on leave now, right after I completed 2 modules of studies :) I still have not caught up with a few animes from last season, and with all the new animes this season, I really wonder whether I can actually complete those few animes from last season :P

Seems like this leave will be for me to catch up with last season's animes and also this season's :)

This summer hasn't been a fruitful one... Work is... tiring (physically, mentally & emotionally)... Academics is... interesting but tiring as well. It's been 4 months since I last blogged... Lots of things happened, be it exciting, sad, frustrating or happy, it all happened in the past 4 months.

I've started working for 4 months (plus a few days) already. And recently, I've become a (sad) victim of backstabbing. And it has made me feel so damn frustrated over it. Seriously, if I really have that kind of attitude, I'm sure others would have complained very long ago.

I think I really need to learn ninjutsu (to dodge all the knives coming at me & tactics to protect myself). I really don't want to master the art of throwing shurikens at people...

Lots of things happened over the last weekend. The most shocking of all was the earthquake and tsunami that devastated Japan last Friday. But the following events that followed were all of destructive nature as well, ranging from the aftershocks, the tsunami that swept other countries and also the nuclear reactor explosions. Just google it and you'll be able to get lots of news articles on it. I really hoped that there won't be any nuclear meltdown, if not it'll be another Chernobyl disaster :(

From all the events that happened, I am quite glad that I took Geography back in Secondary and JC. And also, the DR course I took in Poly. The knowledge that I had allowed me to be able to understand (if not all) what is really happening.

A familiar tune came to my mind this afternoon, after all the things that happened... I googled it and finally remembered what tune was that.

Yup, that's Fields of Hope by Rie Tanaka. It's one of the songs sung by Lacus Clyne in Gundam Seed Destiny. I think that the song sounds quite peaceful, and the content of the song is kind of positive as well. I think it quite suits the atmosphere now, where everything seems to be in zetsubou (despair) and hopefully by listening to it, it can make one feel more positively...

I'm back from Taipei! (Actually I'm already back on Tuesday. Hehe.) I kind of missed the food and the cool weather there.

It was a rather tiring trip, as we walked a lot throughout the whole 7 days there. Haha. But it was quite fun. Note the "quite". I think that this time round, it wasn't as fun as last year's trip there. I cannot disclose the details here. Or I'll be dead. Anyway, 你知我知就行了:P

I'm flying off to Taipei tomorrow morning! Hope that it doesn't rain when we get there. But according to the weather forecast it looks like it's going to be raining :(

Don't tell me that I'll need to hang a teru teru bozu around my neck just like Juvia (from Fairy Tail)!? But, even if it's raining, I hope that we can enjoy this trip which is also our Graduation Trip :)

And so, for the next 7 days, no mee pok for me :(

I was at Macdonald's with 2 friends yesterday and there was a bunch of primary school kids. As usual, they (primary school kids) were talking about those childish things (I did all those when I was at that age too :P) and somehow or rather, we talked about things that happened in secondary school and JC.

Secondary school days memories were still very fresh and clear. But when it came to JC days, I really can't recount any interesting things at all. Guess that I had a really bad JC experience? Bad memories are meant to be forgotten. I guess that's what happened to my JC days.

But if I had not went to a JC after O levels, I wouldn't have met these friends :)

I'll be flying off to Taipei next Tuesday! That's like only about 8 more days to go! :) The itinerary is 80% completed, all thanks to me :P What's left to do now is to pack my bag, change money and to tidy up the itinerary. Singapore is really becoming too hot to tahan. I can't wait to enjoy the cool weather in Taipei!

I went down to sign the letter of offer a few days ago, filled in some forms (for TLD application), tried out the jacket and did my medical check up ( it was a super bad experience). What's left now is to go and collect the jackets when the stocks arrive and also wait for the day to start work! That'll be 28th of March. It kind of sums up my job part :)

Another important date to remember is the 1st of March, where it'll be the last time we get to go on a holiday together (since some of us will be working in the same place). But I really hope that it won't be the last time! I'm looking forward to it! Eat, Shop, Play!

It really doesn't feel like that's the end of our school days in NYP, but it is... unofficially :)

I finished my last test in NYP at 10am and right now, it's the holidays all the way till I officially start work. I really can't believe that the super hectic past few weeks could just fly past so quickly!

I shall just start from the start of the year 2011...

I started school on 2 Jan 2011, did some e-quizzes, prepared for some stupid presentations. That's kind of boring. Let me just fast forward to the week before CNY. Yup, that week was super stressing. I stayed up late almost every night to do the writeup for the FYP final report. Then, comes the FYP FINAL PRESENTATION. Woohoo. I was one of the presenters and I think I kind of screwed it, literally. I thought I can stay calm and just say out my script. I was wrong. The more I say, the more I cannot articulate fluently. HAHA. Anyway, it's over in an instant. And we did it!

That's our mascot Wheely, for our FYP! Sadly, I can't post any pictures of the product as it is now a property of NYP. It's so sad that we did not even get to say bye to it :( Small chin took it away from us immediately after the presentation. I'm really glad that FYP was over. It's a super bo hua module. 3 credits for so much time and effort put into it.

After the FYP final presentation, it's CNY! But, I can't really enjoy it as I was busy doing the 2500 words assignment and studying. The beginning of this week past by really fast, which was a good thing? Andddddddd, right now, I'm relieved of all those mundane things! Woohoo~

A new year, a new beginning. Yes, I totally agree with it. The start of 2011 is the start of the hectic last stretch of academics. Yes, exams will be coming/ending soon. But, projects and presentations are killing me. I can't go to bed at 10pm (yes, usually I sleep early at 10pm). I have to stay awake till about 12midnight almost every night these few days and I reckon that it'll end soon. Not until all the projects and presentations are finished.

I haven't been catching up on animes since the start of the year and of course, I can't watch any new animes. :'( That's so damn sad. Looks like I'll have to marathon all the episodes after the end of the mentally exhausting projects, presentations and exams.

YES! I can't believe that I've survived 10 blocks of clinical attachments! The place I was attached to this week was rather saddening. I stayed at the CT scan room the whole week :) All the patients that go for the scans are either for staging or to check for any metastasis. And some of the patients are quite young. Life is short.

Anyway, I think that knowing how to communicate in Hokkien is not enough :( even though it's like the most commonly used dialect when communicating with the elderly. But, I don't know how to speak Cantonese. The only cantonese phrases/words that I know are food. If I were to speak Cantonese, it would be something similar to this:

I would say something like siew mai, dim sum, leng zai, char siew bao, and so on if you want me to speak Cantonese. HAHA.

3 out of 4 weeks of attachment is over~ 1 more week to go and I can say Sayonara to Experience Reports, Competencies, and weird new people that I meet at the places I go for attachments!

Argh! I'm still left with 1 stupid report that's not been signed yet...

The past 3 weeks had been so eventful... From the happy to the not so happy, and to the sad things that happened, it made me think a lot about human behaviours and attitudes. One thing that I'm sure of is that DO NOT MESS WITH QUIET PEOPLE (those that are not very vocal... sad to say, I'm one of them). That's the last thing anyone should do.

Quiet people are scary. That's because if you really pissed them off or made them really angry, the outcome would be soooooo unexpected. What may happen: sudden outburst of emotions (anger), replies that would leave the idiot (who pissed off the quiet person) dumb folded :)

Well, it's the weekends. Why should I still be thinking about all these irritating stuffs?!

Short Update

I've fallen victim to a certain I'm-almost-always-hungry person's tricks and I'm sure that my image had been sort of ruined. Some things happened over the clinicals and it made me really regret what I did when I was in Year 1... I'm usually a mild tempered person and the things that a certain I'm-almost-always-hungry person did made me really pissed off. I think anyone should know the degree of seriousness.

It really sucks to be portrayed as a bad person when I am not! I think that I'm on the losing end as I tend not to tell what happened to almost everyone in the universe. (Only 2 of my friends know the whole story) I'm not a Big-Mouthed-Woman!

Anyway, attachment is over, and school has started. Week 1 is over... Omigosh! It's only 16 more weeks to the END! I'm actually both looking forward and not looking forward to the END. I'll tell you all the reason when I reach the end. Haha.

I'm supposed to be really busy right now, due to the Case Study and so on. Hehe. It wouldn't harm to get away from the stressors for a while right? :)

Summer is ending and quite some animes have ended as well. It's kind of sad, knowing that there'll not be any new episodes of your favourite/nice animes :'(

I'll definitely miss watching Kuroshitsuji and Seikimatsu Occult Gakuin. No more Sebastian-chan and violent Maya kicking Bunmei. Haha.

Well, as with the Chinese proverb, 天下无不散的筵席, all good things will come to an end... Even life in NYP is also coming to an end soon (?). But the thing that I really hoped will end soon would be attachment. I really had enough of it and it really feels like a waste of time, just sitting there and staring at the screen, because we are not trained to work in modalities yet.

Ok, enough ranting. I shall just end here and get on with life. No matter how much I rant, it'll still be the same until it is all over =/

Holidays

It's the last few days of the holidays. That means 6 weeks will be over very soon :( Hmm. I don't think that I have accomplished a lot of things in these 5 to 6 weeks' time. Haha.

I have finally completed watching Red Garden and I only know why it's called Red Garden on the last episode -_-

The whole of Roosevelt Island was covered with flowers that were supposed to be red. And that's how it got it's name Red Garden.

But the Animus' masters were really creepy. I think that's the only thing that freaked me out. Haha. I'm quite scared of dolls all thanks to all the stupid rumours that I've heard during my primary school days.

You Raise Me Up~

I was watching a Chinese Movie on MioTV last Friday with my family and towards the end of the movie, the moment the song You Raise Me Up was played, I told my sister, "Hey, that's You Raise Me up." She was like "are you sure?". Well, I think she's quite doubtful of me considering the fact that I don't like to tune in to local radio stations. Haha. But she doesn't know that I actually do listen to music but of course, it's not through local radio stations.

I really liked the song You Raise Me Up and it got me addicted to listening to it when I first heard the it in secondary school during one of the performances by the school choir. I think that listening to the song makes me calm down and makes me feel peaceful as well (yea, I really need that with all the drilling and banging, thanks to the LUP haha).

As mentioned earlier in one of the posts about my Taiwan trip, and the late night anime watching, we watched this anime Romeo X Juliet, the opening was the Japanese version of You raise me up! Is the anime nice? Eunice was like "is it sung by Lena Park?" Oooh, now I know this little secret of yours, Eunice. Haha. You are a closeted Otaku!? Or are you a full fledge one? haha

Red Garden

During the 7D6N trip to Taiwan, we would usually still be up watching TV at midnight. I was the one choosing the TV channels (most of the time HEHE), and I would usually switch to Animax. Anime! I think I can't live without watching any anime ar. Haha.

It was really nostalgic, watching old school animes like Slam Dunk and Chibi Maruko-chan. We talked about our favourite characters and all. It was really fun!

Then my roomate and I saw this anime, Red Garden which caught our attention. On first look, it seemed to be quite confusing and all (we didn't watched the first episode). Now that we are back in SG, with internet access and all, I managed to find somewhere to watch the anime and I think that it's not that bad though. I like horror anime. But my friend was scared to death by the minimal horror in the anime. Haha.

So far I've watched 2 episodes of it and I shall continue to watch the rest~

7D6N Taipei Trip

The 7D6N Taipei trip was from 18th August to 24th August 2010. There's only 4 of us (yy,eunice, joys and I) this time round. We took the Jetstar flight early in the morning and reached TPE at noon. Upon reaching TPE, we took a bus to Taipei Main Station and took MRT to Ximen Station to go to our hotel (Neijiang Hotel). We reached our hotel at around 2+pm.

After putting our luggages in our rooms, we went out to look for food. We went to 飛天西門大奶店, for some spicy hotpot buffet. I was quite disappointed as it wasn't really spicy, but overall it was still good. If you go in before 3.30pm, it will be considered lunch price at NT389++.

After lunch, we went back to Taipei Main Station again to explore the underground malls. The underground malls were really long. We managed to explore all the malls (Z, K, R) except for Y mall as we couldn't figure out how to get there. Haha. Z mall is the place to shop and there's also the UFO-catcher machines. It's NT10 per try and even if you can't get anything, you'll feel very happy not because it's cheap but because you'll be able to catch the thing up (even though it'll drop when it goes up), unlike SG where the catcher just caresses the toy. Haha.

After exploring the underground malls. we went to Carrefour which was near our hotel (but we walked the wrong way and ended up taking the longer route there).

Day 2:

We woke up at around 8.30am, wash up, have breakfast and left the hotel at around 9 plus. We took a bus to Yehliu and the bus ride was a joke. As we weren't sure where to alight, we kept thinking that our stop had reached and wanted to alight for a few times. Haha. When we finally reached Yehliu Geo-Park, it was already 11 plus, nearing noon already. We then spent a few hours there in the sun and we all ended up sunburnt.

We were all quite shagged and we have even decided to scrap away some of our plans. We decided to just head on to Jiufen from Yehliu by taxi. I think that we were quite lucky that we met this taxi driver. He's a taxi driver cum tour guide, and we decided to like take his taxi for the rest of the day and we went to Jiufen, Shifen and lastly to Keelung Miao Kou Night Market.

We went to Jiufen for lunch and walked the old street. And there we are, at the place where Hayao Miyazaki got his inspiration for Spirited Away! I can find some resemblance between Spirited Away and Jiufen.

After Jiufen, we went to Shifen for sky lantern lighting. All along I thought that there's sky lantern in PingXi and not in Shifen. Haha. Anyway, it was a pretty good experience.

After Shifen, the taxi driver dropped us at Keelung and we explored the Miao Kou Night Market. Miao Kou Night Market is the place for food!!! We decided to takeaway food back to hotel as it was getting late already. After buying all the food, we went to the Keelung Station to take a train back to Taipei. Yes, a train! The journey took about 40 minutes.

Day 3:

After being in the sun on the 2nd day, we were all pretty shagged by day 3. We woke up at 9am and after washing up and having breakfast, it was already 10plus when we left our hotel.

The first place on our itinerary was Taipei 101! Yes, by the time we reached there, it was almost noon as well. Perfect time to be sunburnt. Haha. After going up Taipei 101, we had lunch at the Taipei 101 mall. and by the time we finished lunch it was already 4 plus.

We then went to WufenPu. Then moment we stepped out of the MRT, up the escalator, the MRT staff immediately called us. We were quite clueless as to how to walk to WufenPu from the MRT station. Haha. I think that's why he called us over. The staff was nice, he told us how to walk to Wufenpu, but the moment we left the station, we were all blur again. Haha. Anyway, we managed to find Wufenpu by following a crowd. It's a really good method to get to places where you do not know how to get to. Hhaha. Wufenpu is really huge! It's something like Bugis Street that is so much bigger. We shopped around for a few hours until 7 or 8 plus at night. If you want to get really cheap clothes, I think that Wufenpu is not really a place to go to. I didn't get a lot of things there also.

After walking around Wufenpu, we were all hungry and went to Raohe Night Market which was near Wufenpu. We had mixed fruits ice over there. We purposely chose a store that was empty so that we do not need to wait for seats as all of us were famished. Haha. After walking down the whole stretch of the Night Market, we decided to just takeaway some food back to the hotel to eat. Haha.

We then took a train from Songshan Railway station to Taipei again. It was only one stop away from Taipei but it feels quite long. Haha. And this is not the same line we took from Keelung to Taipei. That's the 2nd time we took a train!

Day 4:

We went to Carrefour early in the morning to get some stuffs. After putting all the groceries from Carrefour in our room, we went to Danshui old street. It was about noon as well. We were all getting hungry and the weather in Taiwan was really crazy. It was damn hot and sunny! We bought ice cream to cool down. I was the photographer and after I took 3 pictures, my ice cream was already dripping. And that was how warm it was for the 7 days we were there. We walked around the old street and we decided that we had enough of the sun and went to the National Palace Museum. The walk from the outside to the actual Museum was a killer. We had to walk like 15 minutes or so to reach the air-conditioned area. Inside the Museum was a no-photography area. We were all quite disappointed, but luckily our tickets were free. We didn't even bothered to get the audio guide when we were there. Haha.

Since we had no audio guide, we were interpreting the paintings and all by ourselves which turned out to be a joke. After escaping from the sun for a few hours, it was already 4 plus nearly 5pm. We deicided to head on to Shilin Night Market for some food. As we were all tired from walking, the sun and the hot weather, we decided to get some food and eat at the hotel. As we walked around Shilin, we found that there were many clothes shops but we can't shop as our hands were full. Thus we decided to go back again to shop the following night.

Day 4 ended quite early as the sun had drained all of our energy and we decided to end the day earlier.

Day 5:

We woke up at around 9am and by the time we reached the Taipei Zoo, it was nearly noon again. I would not recommend to go to the Taipei Zoo, even if you do not have any places to go in Taipei. It's simply a waste of time, with only a few animals in each enclosure. The worst part was that they even have hamsters, chinchillas, rats and mice on display. After spending a few hours there, we went to Mao Kong via the Maokong Gondola, Taipei Zoo South station.

We decided to settle down at a Teahouse for some tea and to rest our legs. That was the first time I had tea that was brewed by ourselves! It was a really fun experience and it was quite cheap as well. It's only NT450 for 4 person. We spent a few hours there, looking at the sunset and all. By the time we left the Teahouse, it was already dark. I think we left at about 7pm. The Gondola ride down to the Taipei Zoo station was really scary. There was wind blowing and it was not that mild. Our gondola shook with wind. Inside the gondola was quite dark as well.

We all heaved a sign of relief when we finally touched down on solid ground. Haha. From the Taipei Zoo station, we took the LRT back to Taipei main station and changed MRT to get to Shilin Night Market again to shop!

All of us turned into shopaholics Haha.. Time passes very fast when we were happily shopping and before we knew it, it was already 11 plus at night. We decided to simply grab some food back to eat and rush to the MRT station to catch the last MRT back. Haha.

We finally reached XimenDing at around midnight and decided to head to an eatery near our hotel to have dinner. We went back to our hotel after 12 and we decided to try our new clothes and stuff. By the time we bathed and all, it was aready 2plus close to 3 in the morning. As usual, we would watch some TV before we go to sleep. That night was different. At around 3plus, I was sitting on the bed, my friend was lying on the bed. I suddenly felt the bed moved and I turned and looked at her. She wasn't moving. I started to panic. I asked my friend whether she felt it or not and she too felt it. We were speculating whether it was an earthquake or not and decided to call our friends next door. When I was speaking on the phone, I can feel myself shaking. Haha. After putting down the phone, we felt the 2nd tremor. My friend and I were quite scared already and we decided to go over to the other room. Haha. The 4 of us just sat on the bed and I was shaking even harder by that time and the rest on the bed felt me shake. Haha. Anyway, after staying in their room for a while, we decided to go back to our room and sleep. The both of us were pretty scared and tried to sleep ASAP. haha

Day 6:

We woke up not so early and went to Taiwan Storyland. Being there was something like being warped back into the past. Haha. We then had lunch there with the coupons. By the time we were done with Storyland, it was about 2 pm. We then proceeded to the Taipei Main Station Z-mall again! We shopped around the whole area till dinner time before we head back to our hotel to unload our loots. We then went out again to eat at an eatery near our hotel before heading to Ximending to shop! We shopped till like 10 plus before we head back to our hotel to pack up.

We woke up not so early again. Haha. Packed our stuffs and check-out. We then went to have brunch somewhere at the Taipei Main Station Z-mall. After that, we went to explore Y-mall. Y mall is longer than Z-mall. But the things sold there were quite different from Z-mall. There were quite a lot of shops selling fengshui stuff, watches AND anime, manga, figurines and games there! There were tons of Gachapon machines and lots of shops selling domo stuff. Haha. Anyway, I think Y-mall is mainly for otakus. Eunice even said that if she stayed in Taipei, she'll surely become an otaku Haha. Our flight back to SG was rescheduled to a later time thus we had lots of time to waste before heading back to our hotel. Haha. Anyway, yy met her friend at TPE airport again and we heard from him that there were actually 6 tremors and we only felt 2. I think we were all asleep by then. Haha.

That's the end of the 7D6N trip!

I really think that we have achieved a lot more than we did in Hong Kong! The number of meals we ate in Taiwan already exceeded that in Hong Kong. Haha. We visited a lot more places than in Hong Kong. We bought more clothes than in Hong Kong. We had more fun in Taiwan! We bought lots of food and other miscellaneous stuff in Taiwan!!!!

I touched down in Singapore on early Wednesday morning at 1.40am, thanks to the rescheduled Jetstar flight from 7.30pm to 8.50pm and some further delays, which caused us to be still waiting at the boarding area at 9pm.

The 7D6N Taipei trip was really fun! My status on FB is: Sun, sweat, sunburnt. Tremors, shivers, excitement. Shopaholic, 1000cc red tea-holic, UFO catcher-holic. That sums up the 7D6N Taiwan Trip! :)

Oh, I forgot to mention about the mad hair days. Haha. Right now I'm still uploading all the photos on FB. I shall blog about the trip the next time.

I was watching episode 6 of Seikimatsu Occult Gakuin when I saw this:

7th Day of the 7th Month

It's the 7th month now. But this year (or should I should for the past few years?), it doesn't seemed so much like it. Usually during the 7th month, the open field near my house would be quite lively. Yes, the getai. I really liked this song. Haha. Maybe that's why.

Yeah! It's the holidays! 6 weeks of holidays! It's the time for fun, fun and more fun!

There's WII, Maplestory, animes, more games and lots of other things which I haven't planned to do.... I can do it all in these 6 weeks!!! OH, there's the upcoming Taiwan trip also!!!

Somehow or rather, this song Fun Fun & Shout by Sister Mayo is the first thing that came to my mind when I was typing this blog post. I really missed watching Guu and gang fooling around on the peaceful island. It's such a pity that there's no new anime other than the 3 seasons (Jungle wa Itsumo Hare Nochi Guu + Deluxe + Final).

I shall stop here and continue on with the rest of the activities :)

Today is a stay-at-home-&-study day. I can't believe that this week's going to be the last week of Year 3 Semester 1! Everything is happening so fast. It feels as though clinical just ended, but 2 weeks have passed already. Just 1 more week to go!

I'm really not looking forward to the Medical Sociology test on Friday. Sociology is my worst module. I really don't understand sociology theories and all. The worst thing is that I just can't seem to memorise the theories. I really think that RadAnat is so much more easier to memorise :P

In a few days' time, it'll be my birthday. And in a weeks' time, it'll be National Day! Anyway, after all the tests have ended, we can really plan the itinerary for TAIWAN! I'm so looking forward to the trip!

Can I fastforward time and skip this week?

August in Taiwan!

The flight to Taipei and hotel in Taipei is finally settled! Yay! No need to sleep in the Taipei Airport. HAHA.

I was bored yesterday during attachment and I started to calculate how much was the flight and the hotel, and it's around $627 only! It's cheaper than the Hong Kong trip in February. The Taiwan Trip will be 7D6N. And the pathetic Hong Kong trip was only 4D3N? Anyway, this time round, there will only be 4 person going to Taiwan together :(

But we can take a cab around when it's only the 4 of us, which will be a good thing. Anyway, I really hope that we can eat lots of things and buy lots of things (other than food) back. Let's hope that this time round, we will spend our NT$ until we are broke (but still have some to go back to the Airport).

The master seems like he cannot do anything without his butler. What a useless bum. The butler really reminds me of Luka from UraBoku. Protecting someone who's rather useless. Haha. Both of the characters are voiced by the same seiyu. I gave up watching UraBoku after a few episodes.

I went to Kuishin-Bo for dinner last night and I gotta say that it's really an exciting and fun-filled night out. Actually this dinner was something like a farewell for mary, who will be flying off to London on Thursday for 1 month of attachment. (Let's go to Europe for our graduation trip in addition to Japan?!)

It was my 2nd time eating in Kuishin-Bo, but the first time was during lunch, so there's no snow crab :( We started off with the snow crab. It's quite nice. But I still prefer chilli crab. Haha. It's my first time eating snow crab and it's really fun! Mary showed us how to deshell the crab and it's scary (shell flying all over the place). Anyway, it was not a very good demonstration and kids, don't try it at home. Haha. Turned out that Hui Qi and I were the pro in deshelling the crab.

Snow Crab!

They have this special thingy which was limited in quantity every hour and you'll see people running for it. It's quite amusing. Haha. After the first "dong, dong, dong" we finally know what it meant, so, we had this plan - the 2 person sitting at the outer seats were to chiong for the special item when they "dong, dong, dong". Then comes the 2nd "dong, dong, dong". Mary the auntie immediately stood up and chiong-ed. She managed to get 2 frozen strawberries. Haha. Huiqi didn't get anything as she didn't have the auntie instinct. Haha.

Anyway, after Mary got the strawberries, it was time for more snow crab. And I have lost count of how many crab legs I ate. We left the place at close to 10 pm. Oh, they have this Haru (spring) promotion for students on Tuesdays. 4 students for $144.(something) ++. Usually price was $39.90++ per person. But I don't know when the promotion will end (since spring is coming to an end and summer is almost here).

I have conquered snow crabs. Please don't invite/drag me for crab party (chilli, black pepper, butter, etc). Give me at least a few months' break from eating crabs.

I had no idea why I went to my JC class blog. And it made me think about a lot of things. During my JC days, year 1 was really fun. All of us played together, not much politics and was quite united. But in year 2, everything changed. Backstabbing here and there. Rumours were spreading like wild fire. Segregation and division of our class.

Sounds familiar huh? That's what I'm experiencing all over again. Year 1 in Poly was still quite alright. Not much stupid conflicts. Rumours were starting. Year 2. Everything changed. Rumours and backstabbing. Seggregation and division. Year 3. Everything at double or triple the intensity.

It makes me wonder what will happen after we graduate. When all of us part and split our ways to the different workplaces...

Multi-tasking

It's the holidays! Yay! Part one of the crazy tests week had ended. Part two coming soon. The holidays is the time for me to catch on up the animes that I've kind of stopped watching because of the tests. But the things that I've planned to do were disrupted due to the arrival of a new family member, which is my niece.

Right now, I'm babysitting my niece, listening to music, either surfing the net/ playing games or watching anime. And there you have it: multi-tasking.

When I read the Straits Times on Monday, I was shocked.

I really wonder why do they need to be so violent, causing the death of one of the victims, and hacking away another victim's fingers just to rob them? So vicious. Anyway, right now they have caught 5 out of the 7. (If I'm not wrong) I hope that the remaining 2 will be caught soon.

The FYP proposal presentation yesterday sucked. Screw them all. What's up with the canvas and stuffs from America? A certain someone is out to bring us down. The certain someone is biased right from the beginning. I really hate it. I guess that a certain module next semester will be definitely be quite bad, since that certain someone doesn't go according to your actual grade. It will be based on how much you suck up to that person.

The other thing that made me quite pissed off was that when a certain group didn't get good comments about their proposal, and with that certain someone DEFENDING for them (but FAILED), one of the group members actually posted something that is so not true about our group on Facebook. Doesn't that person know that Facebook is so transparent and that as long as you are friends you can see what is posted. Dumbo.

I have a clear conscience, I'm not threatened by your childish antics, and I posted something in return. Anyway, that certain someone #2 was guilty and decided to block me on Facebook. And I can't show the others about it today. (: Thanks for telling me that you are guilty.

Upcoming Trips!

The end of Year 3 will be in Febuary 2011. It's only in about 8 more months' time. But, in the 8 months, there'll only be about 3 months worth of academic (3 more blocks of clinical, 2+6+2 weeks of holidays). I'm sure that it'll all past very fast, and before you know it, it's Febuary already! =)

I'll be having holidays in August and I have sort of jio-ed some friends to go to Taiwan together. But everything is still not really confirmed yet. I really hope that this Taiwan trip will be on and I don't want it to turn out like the Hong Kong trip in Febuary this year, where we didn't get to eat a lot of the local food there.

The next trip would most likely be in late March next year. It'll be our graduation trip, before we split and start working at different places. Since our school will end unofficially on 7th of Febuary 2011, we will have around 2 months of holidays before we start work, we have decided to go to Korea and Japan (Japan is confirmed, but not too sure about Korea as some want to go to Europe). Yes, 2 trips before most of us start on shift work.

I'm looking forward to the Japan trip and I really hope that we are able to catch the sakura in full bloom and have a hanami picnic somewhere. March is the period where Japanese students graduate, and it'll also be our Graduation trip :)

It's really amazing. Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari, Bakemonogatari's ED, is one of my favourite anisong. Hmm, I wonder when is episode 15 of Bakemonogatari going to air?

There's another RadInfo assignment (personal web) that's due 2 weeks later... I really don't know what to put in the personal website, urgh. I will survive this weekend.

Anyway, yesterday I went to Sizzler with a group of friends after school for lunch. And we never returned to school. Hehe. We were treated to stories of endless farting, Emergency exits that's located at L3 (mouth) & B3 (anus) and super efficient digestive systems. That all happened during lunch. It's SO appetizing.

I went to a secondary school classmate's wake just now. I knew about it this morning that she passed away yesterday and she's only 20. It's really sad to lose a friend at such an age. Life's really unpredictable and life is short. Enjoy while you still can.

While there, I met up with a classmate which I never talked to before. It then became something sort of like a mini-gathering where we talked about where we are studying at and reminiscing about the past. It's been 5 years since I last met any sec sch classmates, except for those that I'm good friends with. After that, he offered to send us home, but we had to go with him to buy fish first. The trip to the supermarket was quite funny, where we were saying that he looks like an uncle in the supermarket and all... Yea, till now, I still think that secondary school life was the best (poly life is still not so bad ).

I was in the same class as her in upper sec, and we were from the same CCA since sec 1. But I only started to know her in upper sec, when we were in the same class, sitting next to her. Sometimes we will also take the same bus home. When we were in sec 4, before the prelims period, our form teacher told us that she'll not be sitting for the prelims as there was a tumour growing in her brain and that she'll be going for surgery. I still remembered that all of us were folding paper cranes during Chinese lesson (the Chinese teacher didn't really had much control over our class, but hey, all of us were not too bad in Chinese), praying/ wishing/ hoping for her operation to be successful. Well, the first operation was successful and she repeated O levels the next year. The last time that I met her was at the school gate after her operation.

We heard about what had happened after secondary school from her sister and that the tumour actually grew again a few years back. We heard that she was unhappy after her O levels as people in her Poly course (that's the thing about O level grads in Poly... they are simply too childish) outcast her (due to her illness) and her family advised her to stop school as the tumour was back as well.

She's an optimistic and competitive girl, who's quite good in her studies and I think all that had happened in Poly must have really hurt her a lot. Well, at least she's relieved of all the pain right now, but the ones left behind will always be the hardest hit.

Working!

Last night, I went to Saizeriya at City Square Mall for dinner with my family (again). When I was there, I was "observing" the staff and it's really similar to the fictional family restaurant Wagnaria in the Working!! anime. As it was during the dinner peak period, they were running around, delivering the food and clearing the tables.

But the only difference would be that the bunch of staff there were not weird like Working with a lolicon (Takanashi), androphobic girl (Inami), lazy manager (Kyoko) and intimidating (Yachiyo). But, who knows? Haha.

I really liked the whole environment of the restaurant (Saizeriya) and the staff were quite prompt in taking your orders and so on. The food was quite nice and the pricing of the different items on the menu were economical. That's the reason why we kept going back to Saizeriya :)

Hmm... Out of the many restaurants I've went to, I think that the Pizza Hut in Ang Mo Kio has the worst service you can get. They would ignore you or pretend not to see you calling them and walk into the kitchen to hide. Most of the time we could only get the Manager to take our orders as all the rest were hiding in the kitchen.

There was this e-quiz question, " Which is the brightest star in the sky?". And, a few days before the e-quiz, I was still sticking my head out of the window at night just before I went to sleep, looking up into the skies above. I think I saw something where there were 3 stars in a straight line diagonally in the sky. Makes me wonder whether if it's part of the big dipper asterism of Ursa Major.

Ever since Bakemonogatari started airing, with the ED, Kimi no Shiranai Monogatari, it really got me interested in the stars up above in the sky. But I'm not a pro, I can't name any of the constellations that you see in the sky.

It's such a pity that Singapore is so light-polluted, and it's really hard to spot any constellations due to the light pollution almost everywhere unless you go to some ulu places that's dark. OMG, I just remembered my primary school & secondary school days where I went to the Sarimbun Camp (5 times) and the sky was soooo pretty with so many stars. Urgh, it's such a pity that I didn't know how to appreciate the stars yet.

How I wish I can go a star-gazing trip.... The answer for the question above is in the title :)

Korean Food

I went to Novena Square 2 last weekend with my family for dinner at this Korean restaurant, Seoul Yummy. We were seated at a super long table, which I think can seat like around 9 person or something. But I'm quite glad that they seated us there.

We ordered a set that's meant for 4 person (there's 5 of us) and it's quite a mistake. There were 4 main, 1 appetizer, 1 kimchi hotpot, and a dessert. There were 6 different side dishes and we were given 2 sets of it. So there's 12 small plates of side dishes. And that's before the main dishes were served. The side dishes were not bad (from my experience of holidaying in Korea for 1 week, having Korean food for 3x7 meals). But it doesn't really seemed to be very authentic, especially the potato salad and the ikan bilis.

The kimchi hotpot. The gigantic hotpot, with seafood, kimchi, rice cake and the korean instant noodle.

The bibimbap.

We ordered 2 glass vermicelli (seafood with pork/beef), 1 udon (seafood with chicken) and 1 bibimbap. The serving was huge and we couldn't finish the udon. In the end we asked the waitress to pack the udon for us. Even though we ordered different meat for the glass vermicelli and udon, all of it came with beef. Well, it's still ok for the mistake.

The glass vermicelli was quite nice, the bibimbap was so-so only (the bibimbap I had in Korea was sooooo much nicer), which I think was because there's no egg and there were not enough bean sprouts and vegetables in it. Even though the kimchi hotpot was quite nice, it seemed to taste like some instant noodle soup. I felt thirsty after drinking the soup and drank lots of the roasted barley tea. Oh, roasted barley tea, I nearly forgot about it. The meal came with the barley tea which was quite nice, but I think some people may not really like the taste.

The service was not bad, the staff would come and check on us, asking whether we need refills of anything (tea, iced water, side dishes). The kimchi hotpot was spilled onto my mum (a little bit), as the hotpot was slightly slanted which the waitress didn't noticed. But, it's still forgivable. My mum was served yoghurt ice cream as an apology, which she gave it to us. Haha.

I remembered that there were a few other animes that had also depicted Singapore in it, one of it was Cowboy Bebop, where they showed a video with the Merlion and that Faye seemed to have been to Singapore or something. It's quite long ago already. I don't really remember much. Haha.

Anyway, after googling on the Merlion, I came across this Wiki page about the Merlion in Pop culture and found out that there were quite some animes with the Merlion in it as well.

Angel Beats!

Have you ever wondered what the afterlife is like? Angel Beats! is an anime which takes place in the afterlife. The story focuses on a group of students (Shinda Sekai Sensen or SSS) who were enrolled into the afterlife school, who fights against God so that they do not get erased from there.

In the world of Angel Beats!, you do not die, no matter how serious your injuries are... You are dead in the first place, so you do not die. But, you'll still feel pain.

Try asking the Tenshi to prove it & you get stabbed right in the heart :)

If you follow what the rules of the school, you'll disappear, but it isn't fair. Thus the SSS fights against God to try to delay this fate.

Well, the first few episodes were great, especially the concert by GirlDeMo (Girls Dead Monster), the diversion squad while the rest of the SSS carries out their mission. Right now, I think that the GirlDeMo are much more worth watching than K-ON!!, which is kind of boring, with no new songs and not enough humour in it, as compared to the first season. The OP & ED were great as well!!!

My Soul, Your Beats!

Brave Song

In episode 3, the lead vocalist Iwasawa disappeared after performing the ballad. While singing, Iwasawa's flashback were shown and at the end of it, she finally fulfilled her dream which she had while still alive, and thus she disappeared from the afterlife world.

It makes me wonder what the afterlife is like after watching this anime...

Saizeriya

I went to Saizeriya, a Japanese chain of Italian Restaurants with my family in City Square Mall recently for dinner. It's a family restaurant which serves cheap and affordable Italian food. The layout of the restaurant really reminds me of the family restaurant in Working!.

Look at the background~ The tables and the seats.

We ordered the Clam Chowder and the mushroom soup plus foccasia bread. The clam chowder was not bad, but I don't really liked the mushroom soup. Oh, they serve escargots as well. There were lots of garlic on the escargot and I can only taste the garlic.

I ate the Pork & Hamburger Steak, which was quite nice. The sphagetti was not bad as well. The Mushroom & Meat Sauce sphagetti which my sis ate, has 3 different types of mushroom in it. Well, in all, the total bill averages out to about $12+ per person which was considered cheap, as compared to at least $15 per person in other places.

Change the World!

The song "Change the World" by V6 suddenly came into my mind a few days ago and it was kind of stucked in my head the whole morning that day.

Change the World was Inuyasha's 1st OP and I vividly remembered that it was one of the few animes that got me started on watching animes regularly a few years back. Hmm, but in the end, I did not complete the whole 167 episodes of Inuyasha and I have not watched the latest season (InuYasha: The Final Act) that was supposed to wrap up everything. Haha.

Quick update

Tomorrow will be the last day of the third week of attachment. Even though it's been almost three weeks since we started attachment, it doesn't really feel like three weeks had passed already. Time really flies.

I've been posted to my sponsor hospital this week, and I'm really glad that this is my sponsor hospital. The environment and the people there are friendly. I think it's quite a small place, where all the radiographers work together, unlike some hospitals where if you are posted to the in-patient x-ray, then you'll be stationed there and not really interact with the others. That's what I heard from a radiographer.

Tomorrow's my last day there. I hope I'm able to get the final competency tomorrow, and I would have cleared this block's competencies.

[To those that will be working with me in the future: Do not ask me to eat Mcds with you! I'm really sick of it!!!]

Start of Spring

Spring is here and it's the start of the Spring '10 animes. Before I start on the new Spring '10 animes, I shall blog about a few of the animes that have ended.

First up, Ookami Kakushi...It's a 12 episode anime series, which I think that the last episode was sort of redundant. All the problems and troubles have been solved in the second last episode and episode 12 was something like a "special" rather than the ending.

Poor Hiroshi-kun became a waitress in a cafe. Due to his special smell, a gangster was attracted to him, even though he was a cross dresser (TRAP!). It's more of a fanservice episode...

Next, Kimi ni Todoke! It's a 25 episode romantic comedy series. Well, usually I prefer shonen, comedy, adventure, horror (to name a few) type of anime, but this time round, I've made a good choice in watching this series.

It's about friendship and love, where a girl who was usually out casted by people due to her ominous aura, got to know of a group of good friends and how she managed to open up. I'm really kind of jealous of ~~Sadako~~Sawako. Well, due to the lack of use of proper English these few weeks (I speak broken Hokkien, mixed with Mandarin during attachment during most of the time), I'm kind of stucked as to how to put all of my feelings towards this series into words.

Well, it's a pretty good venture into this genre. Hmm... Maybe I should watch more animes of this genre?

Last but not least, Kobato! It's a 25 episode anime series as well... The final two episodes were tear-inducing, it's so sad and touching (kind of contradicting huh?). Four seasons have passed and it's Spring again. However, Kobato still have not filled up her bottle with Konpeito and usagi-san appears again. It's here to take Kobato away! On hearing that Kobato had left, Fujimoto rushes out to look for her, eventually he found her at the playground. Just as Kobato was going to blast off into space, Fujimoto was finally healed and the giant konpeito from him filled the bottle. Kobato's wish was granted and she was sent off to another place, the place that she wished to be at.

Well, eventually Fujimoto remembers about Kobato and Kobato was reborn in the same world again.They managed to reunite again, just as what Kohaku told Fujimoto, where souls will meet again if they are the same. And so it was a happy ending~

It's a rather interesting anime, with a group of people with a mixture of personalities working together in a Family Restaurant. I've watched the first episode quite some time ago, and hey, I think it's kind of familiar, but I just can't recall which anime was it. My mind's all in a mess right now. I think I'll be sticking to this anime for now.

Wednesday (March 17) was one of the quite interesting day in this short 5 weeks holidays, apart from the HK trip, Kui ShinBo Buffet and Sizzler Lunch. I'm the one who sort of organised this Wii Party for a get together for the 4 of us stucked in Singapore. Haha.

The day started with yy bringing qi to my house at around 9am. I'm quite amazed that yy managed to find my place considering the fact that she is not very good with directions. Haha. Then the 3 of us attempted to train for the Napfa test, but it was a failure. Haha. We walked around my neighbourhood, looking at the cute rabbits and hamsters and the noisy parrots before heading back home.

After bathing, we went to AMK Hub to meet Eunice for lunch before heading home again for the Wii Party! I actually lost to yy. And yy is the last person that I think I'll lose to in games. Haha. Actually we didn't play for very long. And the 3 of them had to go already.

Aiya. I should have brought them for dinner at Chomp Chomp that day. But anyway, we can look for another day where all the 6 of us are free.

End of Holidays

This is the last weekend of the end of semester holidays and next Monday will be the start of a new block of clinical attachment. 5 weeks of holidays will be over soon.

I'm kind of lost as to how/what we are supposed to do for our reports and whatsoever. I don't really like the timing they set for our attachment as the things we are supposed to complete during the attachment are new things that we have not learnt in school yet.

I'm quite skeptical about the 6 week holidays after the 1st semester of year 3. I don't think it will be something that allows us to rest and relax. But hope that I'm wrong. As for the upcoming trip to Japan in September, it's like nothing is confirmed yet. And I wonder whether we will get to go or not in the end.

Oh well. Now's the start of the attachment blues. I'm so not looking forward to attachment next week.

Morning scare

I was woken up yesterday morning by loud banging at 6 plus am. My mind wasn't really working so, I woke my sis up and then ask her what's that noise. We realised that it was someone banging on the door and so we went to look through the peephole, but there was no one. After a while, we heard the banging again, seems like they went to bang on somebody else's door.

After a while they came back. And they were firemen. They said that it was an emergency. And I thought that there was a fire or something. But, it was actually someone above was attempting to commit suicide by jumping and the firemen wanted to come into our kitchen.

So, my sis let them in. The policeman told my mum that they may need to put out a net. But in the end they never as they said that the unit above have opened their door and they can go in.

I looked out of the window and saw that there were some people in the opposite block looking at what's happening and then I saw that they inflated the mattress just in case the person jumped.

Well, everything was over in less than 1 hr, but I guess it could have happened for quite some time as it was the school holidays and not a lot of people will wake up so early to even detect that there was someone sitting at the window.

I told my friend what happened yesterday morning and she told me about her and a group of friends' foolish act of jumping from the 3rd floor when they were younger. It's really sad to hear people trying to end their lives and the aftermath of everything. And the hardest hit would be the ones still alive.

HONG KONG~ Days 3 & 4

~~~Day 3~~~~

It's the start of Day 3!

On day 3, we went to Disneyland! Yes. The Magical world of Disney~ But, before that, we headed to Jordan MTR in search of FOOD!

And so, we exited from Jordan MTR and walked towwards Shamrock Hotel. I heard from my sis that there's a Dim Sum restaurant next to Shamrock Hotel. So, we decided to go there and have a look. We didn't managed to find the restaurant that my sis mentioned due to the lack of clues and description of the restaurant. In the end, we settled down in the Shamrock Seafood Restaurant (it's mentioned in the Lonely Planet guide) because of the not so bad reviews.

And so, that's the 2nd Dim Sum meal that we ate in the 4 days in HK. Quite pathetic ar.

We looked through the menu and ordered some Dim Sum. The food there was not bad. Some of the Dim Sum was quite INTERESTING. Like the siew mai with pig's liver. Haha.

And so, after breakfast, we head to Disneyland. Well, the journey to Disneyland was quite eventful. Haha. Our plan initially was to take from Jordan --> TST --> TST East --> blah blah --> Disneyland. But we found out that we can't get to TST east without exiting TST MTR station, which would have cost us more. As it was the morning peak period, the train was quite crowded. We dilly dallied at Jordan MTR station before deciding to take the train. We all ran towards the train and 4 of us got into the train. I was part of the 4 (3 at one door, I'm alone at another door). Don't think that I was lucky. I got wedged in between the doors on the crowded train and I said OUCHED quite loudly when I got in the train. I was so embarrassed and I quickly turned around and faced the doors. Luckily we only took the train for one stop. And we met the other 2 at TST station.

We finally reached Disneyland by taking the train from TST --> Lai King --> Sunny Bay --> Disneyland. The moment we reached there, there were lots of people there already. Further more, it was still the Chinese New Year period and there were lots of mainlanders that were so disgraceful and degrading HK Disneyland by sleeping on the benches and what not.

We wanted to differentiate ourselves from the mainlanders, and so, we spoke English the whole time we were in Disneyland. Anyway, we used English like 80% of the time in HK. The 20% were Hokkien, Mandarin, Canto and some nonsense.

There's nothing much to say about Disneyland except that it was small and quite boring. (Everland in Korea is so much bigger and more interesting than HK Disneyland) Well, we spent the whole afternoon in Disneyland and we decided to head back to our hotel to put our Disneyland loot before heading for dinner.

Dinner in day 3 was at the Cha Chan Teng that we ate Po lo bao. That's the most interesting dinner out of the 4 days in HK. Haha.

~~~Day 4~~~~

It was the last day in HK, and we have not really shopped at all. But our first destination was to Sogo near our hotel to buy some Lao Po Bing home. We were quite early and Sogo have not opened yet, thus we went to Avenue of Stars which was very near to Sogo to have a look. I think it's kind of overrated. Luckily we never dedicate one of the nights to go there.

We went to Sogo to buy Lao Po Bing before heading to Citygate Outlets. That place is huge! But when we went there there wasn't much sales and I only bought 2 Esprit tee shirts. We had our lunch in the Food Republic and we saw Fishball noodles which all of us craved for during the last few days. Anyway, after a quick lunch, we continued shopping. But there's nothing much to buy.

We returned to our hotel at around 4 plus in the afternoon, picked up our luggage and took the shuttle bus to Kowloon Station to take the airport express to the Airport. The last meal we had was the lao po bing and all of us were famished. We did some last minute shopping at the Airport, grabbed a bite and it was already time for us to board the plane. (My camera battery died on the last day. So, I only took pictures of the view from our hotel in the morning. The rest of the photos are on Facebook~)

HONG KONG~ Day 2

The 2nd day started with a misty view of the harbour from our hotel room. I was the first one to wake up at 6 am in the morning. I was the first to wash up followed by the rest. After washing up, we left the hotel at around 8 plus in the morning. Our plan for day 2 was to head to Macau and return to HK in the evening, before heading to the peak.

The first stop was to a Cha Chan Teng for breakfast.

We were pre-warned by yy not to have a full breakfast. So, we heeded her advice and just ate Po lo bao and Milk tea for breakfast. It was a really good decision.

After breakfast, we decided to head to the ferry terminal. Initially, we thought that the Star Ferry Terminal was the terminal that we can take a ferry to Macau. But it was the wrong ferry terminal. Star Ferry Terminal only goes to HK island. @#$#% It was my mistake. Haha.

China Ferry Terminal which is located near Kowloon Park is the correct one. @#$#% Anyway, it's along the way. So we headed to China Ferry Terminal which took us another 15 to 20 minutes to walk there. We bought the 2 way ferry tickets and boarded the 11 am ferry.

We were quite excited after we boarded the ferry, but after like 20 minutes on the ferry, all of us were feeling quite unwell. It was as though all our energy were drained away by the rocky ferry. To make things worse, there was a lady who kept making the vomiting sound throughout the whole 1 and a half hrs journey. It's really irritating when you already feel like vomiting and then there's someone who keeps making that disgusting sound. Towards the end of the journey, someone sitting a few rows behind us really vomited. And we can all smell the vomit. Bleh.

After alighting the ferry, all of us were in no mood. All we can feel was the uncomfortable feeling in our stomach. A guide approached us after we were out of the customs, and we decided to follow her. The guide took us around Macau in a van/SUV and the roads of Macau was rocky as well. And, here comes the 2nd bout of motion sickness.

We went around Macau, visited places like Penha Church, Ruins of St Paul, saw many casinos and so on. We bought portuguese egg tarts and pork chop bun but we didn't eat it immediately. We saved it for supper back in our hotel room. All thanks to the ferry, we only ate Po lo bun in the morning and our stomachs were empty the whole day.

Our last few stops in Macau was to the shop selling almond cookies and the Venetian. We didn't managed to go into the Venetian to look around as we were sort of off schedule and we need to rush back to put our things before heading to the peak. The venetian looks quite grand on the outside. I really wonder what it's like in the inside. But anyway, even if we have the time to spare, I may not be able to enter as I'm not yet 21.

We took the 6pm ferry back and the journey back took only 1 hr!! It was not that rocky also! When we reached the hotel room, we started eating. Yum. Even though the pork chop bun was cold already, it still taste nice. Not forgetting the egg tarts as well. Yum.

We left the hotel at around 8+pm. Which was quite late. So, we decided to go to Mong Kok Ladies Market instead. The Ladies Market is like the Pasar Malam in Singapore, meaning there's not a lot of things to buy. I didn't buy anything there. The things that were on sale there were lots of pirated branded bags. And they were sold at like SGD 40+. I wouldn't spend that amount on something pirated. I would rather use it to buy a bag that may not be that branded and I'm sure I can get a nicer one as well.

Lots of walking in day 2 as well. And so the day ended with supper again!

HONG KONG~ Day 1

I have finally got enough sleep and now I'm feeling very refreshed. So, I shall continue to blog about the HK trip :)

We reached Changi Airport early in the morning at 6am on the 24th of Feb, and our flight to HK is at 7.55am.

And so, we reached HK at about 12 noon.

We were quite lost at the airport, looking for the Disneyland shop, maps and the airport express. We ended up wasting quite some time in the Airport. But in the end, we took the airport express to our hotel.

Here's our hotel room!(Photo below) There's a small living room, a small wardrobe area and the bedroom. There's a king sized bed and a sofa bed. The sofa will be transformed into a bed every night by the housekeeper. I think that The Salisbury YMCA is quite a nice place. Especially the view from our hotel room. We can see the harbour from our room!!! We managed to catch the Symphony of lights on one of the nights in HK. But, it's not really that interesting.

And so, we reached our hotel at around 3pm. After exploring the room and putting down our luggage, we decided to go and look for food. All of us were famished as the last meal we had was breakfast on the plane. With the handy map in hand, we walked down Canton Road in search of food!

We finally found Sweet Dynasty after a 10 to 15 min walk from our hotel. We ordered some dim sum and 6 desserts! After dinner, we walked further down Canton Road and we went to Kowloon Park.

I think that Kowloon Park is something like the Singapore Botanical Gardens, but with more animals. There's lots of flamingo at the pond area! As it was drizzling and the sky was getting dark, we decided to leave the park and head on to Granville Road. We walked around Granville Road for a while before heading back to our hotel. We bought supper on the way back to eat in the hotel room.

It's about 1 plus in the morning that we hit the sack. And the next morning, I was the first one to wake up at 6am.

That's the end of Day 1. I shall continue on days 2, 3 and 4 soon.

Back in Singapore!

The flight that I was in landed in Singapore on the 27th of Feb at around 1145h. It marked the end of our 4D3N HK trip. And, I'm back in hot and sunny Singapore. Goodbye to cool and dry HK.

Shall stop here first. I'm feeling sleepy now. Gotta repay my sleep debt now. I shall continue again after have my sleep :)

I saw this video 魔女たちの22時 (majo tachi no 22 ji)on youtube, which talks about a 27 year old woman with a 7 year old daughter who looks like sisters rather than mother and daughter.

The woman have 2 children and she have been mistaken by strangers that she's the elder sister instead of mother. In another scenario, where the woman works in a family restaurant, a high school guy has tried asking her out for dinner, but she rejected him and tells him that she has to care for her kids. That guy's reaction is so funny. Haha.

It's really shocking to see that the 27 year old woman looks so young when she appears towards the end of the video. No wonder she's the majo of that episode.

Yay! I got a new game for my Wii!

Pop' n Music is a music and rhythm game and the characters available to choose from are really cute. But I think that sometimes the controller doesn't really detect the direction you swing it so you'll end up missing the pops. The controller is just not sensitive enough.

I have not unlocked a lot of things yet, and by default, it came with Lady Gaga's Poker Face, and some other old songs. What I don't really like is the way the cut the songs. I would prefer that they just use the chorus or something and not use the song right from the start and stop abruptly.

YES! All the end semester tests have been completed, and this marks the end of Year 2. Just one more year to go and I'm done with the Diploma. It's really really very fast. The start of Year 1 seemed like it happened very recently, and now, Year 2 is over. Wow!

And so, for now, I would not need to use a pen or pencil to write stuff related to academic.Yay! I'm able to shed all my stationary now~ Haha.

Stationary-tachi. You guys can take a good rest for now.

CNY is just a few days away. We are just 2 weeks away before we say "Hi" to HK (dim sum, shopping, desserts~). Omg, we really need to plan our itinery soon!

Hey, it's the year of the tiger!

It's a new year and a new year brings along new beginnings~ (I know it's 2nd of Jan 2010 already.) Hope that 2010 will be a really good year for everyone!

I shall not talk about New Year resolutions since I don't really have the habit of planning my new year resolutions and what not. Lots of people (including myself) will not be able to commit to it anyway. Haha. I think that New Year Wishes/Dreams would be more realistic since it's just something you wished/dreamed for and to fulfill it, you may or may not need to work hard to get it.

My New Year Wishes/Dreams would be:

to be able to HAPPILY go to HK with the girls~ (priority)
to get my first figma or nendo

Wow, I'll be completing year 2 soon. And, I'm turning 21 this August. It's all happening so fast~ *I really need to jio the girls out to book our HK trip soon.*

I was searching for the OPs and EDs for Sayonara, Zetsubou Sensei last night and I chanced upon a few videos that are really interesting.

Those that have seen Sayonara, Zetsubou Sensei will already know that the series uses many references from other animes, commercials and stuffs. The 3 videos below are just some videos that compares the scenes from SZS and the original anime/CMs/drama.

From all the SZS seasons that I've seen so far (I have not watched Season 3.5 yet), I think that the funniest season was the season 1, where they introduce all the students, their names and their personalities. After that season, it really becomes sooooo random. There's no link between each episodes. But, in Season 3, it talks about current affairs and makes fun of it. Remember the missile and kim? Haha. That really made my day.

Umineko no Naku Koro Ni

I just finished watching the last episode of Umineko no Naku Koro Ni and I've only one word to sum up the whole series.... Bloody. Well, Beatrice finally got her retribution, being stabbed and bleeding all over at the end.

To get Battler back into the mood to fight on Beatrice, Ange told Battler that she is in fact her sister (well, I think she cannot keep the secret anymore). On saying that, Ange started to bleed (flesh was being torn apart as said by Beatrice) and vanished. Battler will return to his sister 12 years ago and not the current Ange. Feel so sad for her.

Well, there are still some things that they did not really conclude. Beatrice said that Battler is the only survivor on Rokkenjima, so did he manged to get home to his little sis? So, Battler became the head of the Ushiromiya family?

Hmm... The end of a series means that it's going to the start of another new series :P Looking forward to the 2010 Winter animes.

I started to watch Kaidan Restaurant recently and I think that the stories are quite creepy. But it's really interesting to know about the different cultures and tradition.

Year 2 attachment is finally over~ I'm so relieved! Wow, that means 4 more blocks of attachment to go. About 2 more months to go till the end of Year 2. It's so fast. Anyway, it's the holidays now. 2 weeks of mid-semester break only. I still have to do projects. I really hate to do projects. With all the disagreements and all. But, so far so good. Not much conflict. Haha.

The past 4 weeks had been tiring, but it was fun as well, being in the same place with Mary (for 2 weeks) and learning lots of useful stuff. AND, I've completed all my Year 2 competencies as well!!! To "celebrate" the end of Year 2 clinicals, we had Delifrance lunch on the last day.

The X'mas set (the beef was so tough and I had a good jaw exercise that day but the bread was nice)

My mum went for colonoscopy at SGH yesterday and my sis and I accompanied her there. After the colonoscopy, Dad came to pick us up for dinner at Tiong Bahru Market. As we were on our way home after dinner, we saw a fire at one of the apartments near Tiong Bahru Market. The fire was blazing. The tiles on the roof was dropping and I can hear the sounds of things exploding. I think the unit above it is gone as well.

They took quite some time to put out the fire.

3/4 weeks of clinical attachment is over! One more week to go~ But, I've still got 3 more competencies left :'( Actually, I'm able to get B Skull this week but I keep screwing up. Haiz. I'll work harder next week. But it's really fun to go to the same place as Mary for attachment. We can slack and talk crap when there's no patients and I learnt some new things that I didn't know. We witnessed how cruel the reality is and that it is really important not to offend higher ups at work. Luckily, after we graduate, we will be working in hospitals where there isn't anyone directly above you. Phew~

Anyway, I shall stop here on the boring attachment. Haha.

I think that Rilakkuma is so cute. (Hey, I still like Domo-kun!) My wallpaper is Rilakkuma and my MSN display picture is also the bear. Haha. My sister said that the UFO catcher machines in Marina Square has that, but I'm really bad at it. (She caught 2 walking stitch and made it as though it's really easy to catch.) Oh, and there's Domo-kun also. I asked her whether Domo-kun can move or not and if it's able to walk, it'll be really scary. Imagine that a monster showing its fangs is dashing towards you. I would immediately run away if she brought home a Domo-kun that can walk. Haha.

Today is the first day of the last month of the year (confusing huh?). One 30 more days and we are done with 2009.

Well, here's a summary of things that happened last week right until now:

Last week was the 1/4 weeks of attachment and I was at a polyclinic. Yea, it's quite slack. But I still managed to do 3 competencies (give myself a pat on the back =P). It was actually a short week, due to Hari Raya Haji which was last Friday. Since I've got a few friends wanting to buy a netbook (I wanted a new Eee as well), I sort of planned a trip to Sitex '09 at the Singapore Expo. And so, we met at ~~the tracks at~~ Tanah Merah Station after work to go to Sitex together. It was fun, because we took quite some time to navigate around (it was really confusing due to the many booths selling the same thing). Hey, this is the first time that I think that shopping is fun =)

And so, I've got myself a NEW EEE! Yeah~ The ASUS Eee PC 1005HA!

Initially I wanted a Pink Eee to go with my handphone and camera but it was out of stock, so I had to settle with white which was my 2nd option. Well, it's a really good buy, it's even cheaper than my old Eee (one of the pioneers of netbooks).

As for this week, I'm attached to a dental x-ray department and it's very slack as well. I think yawning makes up about 80% of my energy output for these few days. I did my OPG competency today!!! Considering the fact that today is the first time that I managed to practise and it was pure eye power yesterday. (My eye power not bad ok?) Yes! OPG done, lateral ceph left. Hope that I'll be able to do it tomorrow.

And yawns /(*o*)/zZz... Off to sleep.... Soon....

Somehow or rather, I'm feeling kind of reluctant to look for people to go to AFA with me. And, I'm feeling really down that I can't go to AFA this year. It's really contradicting. I really want to go to AFA, yet I'm not making an effort to really go and look for people to go with me. Well, I think it's partly due to the increase in the price of the tickets. I asked a good friend of mine a few weeks back and she thinks that it's quite ex.

Thus, the conclusion would be a no-go to AFA this year. My heart is bleeding right now. Haha. I need to psycho myself that I should not go to AFA as I'll be spending quite some money on electronic gadgets this month. Well, Sitex (need to get a new netbook) is just next week and I've just bought a digital camera yesterday.

OMG. My handphone is rose in colour, the camera I bought yesterday is pink and the netbook that I'm planning to buy is also pink in colour. I thought I hated pink?!

Fairy Tail

I finally managed to catch Fairy Tail last week, after so many weeks of slacking, studying, schooling. Well, I think Fairy Tail is a nice anime, and I'll definitely continue watching it! Hmm, that means I may drop some animes this season due to the time constraint (it's only the fifth week of the school term). Yea, I dropped Nyan Koi! (I think that it's getting more and more ridiculous) and I think I'm gonna drop White Album 2nd Season as well. I really can't stand White Album anymore. It's so damn boring and the pace is so slow. Makes me feel sleepy when I watch it.

I think that the storyline of Fairy Tail is exactly the same as some RPG, where you'll need to join a guild before you can go on taking up tasks and earning some money (that's what happens in the Fairy Tail world).

I think that Natsu looks like Black Star from Soul Eater. The way he looks, and his behaviour (the super reckless behaviour). Haha.

Yay! It's the rainy season again. My favourite time of the year.The picture above was taken on Monday afternoon when I returned home from school. The sky was overcast and gloomy. Ahh, what a nice weather to sleep. Haha.

We had Radiography lab practical yesterday,which was on the magnification of images. We were asked to produce images of certain magnifications. Somehow or rather, we thought of super weird ideas to position the phantom and we ended up with this.

The thorax and pelvis were used to prop up the hand. And, this was not the only ridiculous thing we did. We balanced the limb precariously at the edge of the table as well. Why didn't I think of taking a picture of it as well? Urgh.

YY and I saw someone ordering dragon fruit juice a few days ago, and we were curious as to how it tasted, and we tried it today. So, there you go, dragon fruit juice.

I tried today's e-quiz on my eee pc, and it's not laggy while doing the quiz!! Just that I need to wait awhile after entering the assessment key. Well, that's quite common on netbooks and the school's computers.

Do not underestimate the power of a 1 GB Ram EEE pc! Small is good. (better than those super big laptops that is double my EEE and weights like a heavy rock) Haha.

Hope that netbooks will be pre-installed with Windows 7 when I go to Sitex in November.

I heard from my sis about the MSDNAA program and thought that I'm able to get a copy of Windows 7. I happily emailed the school admin to ask about the login ID and PW, but to my dismay, this was the reply I got, "SHS has stopped subscribing to MSDNAA", hence you have no access rights to the URL."

I clicked on the drop list for SHS students and the downloads are so crappy. Only manuals are available for download. I clicked on SBM's droplist and I saw that they have Win XP, Vista and Win 7!!! How come business students get to enjoy all those stuff while SHS students do not get them? Wth, SHS students also need an OS in their comps to work with. SHS students are not so noob that we need all the manuals. Some SHS students can be geeky too. Hmm. Maybe it could be due to some *ahem* people in SHS. [Maybe MS is scared that they'll create pirated copies of it?]

I was looking through the live feeds on FB when I saw this video which was our Sec 4 CO SYF performance.

It's so nostalgic. Even though the rehearsals were like hell (I even gave some lame excuse for not going for the Saturdays rehearsals, hehe Shhh~) and ridiculous, it really made my secondary school life more complete (unlike my JC life and Poly life right now).

I remembered I was threatened by the teacher IC that if I were to miss any more of the Sat rehearsals, I would be kicked out of the SYF team. Lol. I even told my best friend that it would be their loss if I was kicked out. Haha. Yea, I was really confident of my skills playing the cello last time. [The cello instructor was talking to me about joining a CC CO and I even bluntly rejected him. Haha. Well, I really hated the CO last time.]

I did not continue with CO in JC, thus I was contemplating whether to join CO in Poly when I saw my junior in NYP in Year 1. But, I guess I do not want to endure the same kind of suffering again, thus I did not join.

Well, I think it's not a bad idea to look back and think back at the past occasionally, remembering the fun and interesting things that happened.

I'm pissed off by someone who likes to depend on others, asking almost everything, as if I know everything.

I think that the joy of having a new gadget/toy is the part where you start to explore its functions. Well, that's what I think. But, some other people don't think so. And that's where it gets really irritating to me.

I replied with a "different laptops, different place to turn on something, explore it yourself", and that's where I got a WTH reply. Hello, I should be the one saying WTH. I am being nice by giving that reply instead of not replying or replying with a super blunt and direct WTH, GO AND EXPLORE IT YOURSELF!

I really don't want to spout vulgarities (because that's so not ME), so don't piss me off EVER again.

Good & Bad News...

I've 2 news- one good and one bad.

The good news is...I've finally finished writing my case study and I've printed everything out! Now, all that's left is to punch holes, tidy up everything, put it in a folder and hand it in tomorrow. Yes!

The bad news is... The imminent NAPFA test next year. I'm gonna die. The last time I ran a 2.4km was when I was in JC 2, I think somewhere in May. It's been more than 2 years since I last ran. Yea, so wish me luck.

Yay! Clinical is over. No more competency reports to type and no more patients kao beh-ing... for now. This week had been extremely exciting and interesting.

On Monday, I took the wrong bus and in the end, I had to take a cab down. I was late for 5 minutes and the IC said," why so late?"--- whatever. The clock was 10 minutes faster. So, technically, I was not late. I'm early by 5 minutes instead. On Tuesday, I was late again. But the IC was on leave.

For almost everyday, there would be a bunch of construction workers coming in for CXRs and it was really tiring. I had to demonstrate to them to breathe in and quickly run to the control panel to zap.

I had the chance to handle kids almost everyday there as well. Good practice before I graduate. OH. Then there was a kid that vomited and the Dad had to catch the vomit with his hands. Haha.

There was a trolley patient on one of the days and we had to transfer the pt to the table. The transfer was so rough. I wouldn't want to be the patient at all. The trolley was higher than the table (both trolley and table cannot adjust the height) and the pt just dropped down and banged on the table. OUCH. Let me warn you, DO NOT go to a polyclinic if you are in a trolley.

Oh man. I still have the case study to complete....

Some Thoughts...

It's October, that means the Fall '09 animes have aired. So far, I'ved only watched a few series like White Album season 2, Kimi ni Todoke, and Kobato. I think that White Album is such a disappointment. There's no concert at all! And, it just goes back on to the monotonous story. I really wondered how I managed to finish season 1.

As for Kimi ni Todoke, I think it's pretty hilarious, especially the pun on Sawako = Sadako and that Sawako always gets misunderstood. So, I'll stick on to this anime.

I think that Kobato will be a pretty good anime, from what I see in the first episode. But, I definitely wouldn't want to try the Nabe that Kobato made. (I had steamboat for dinner last night as well.) It's just plain scary... Chocolate, milk, adding the vegetables when the water has not boiled, etc. The thought of it just puts me off. Haha.

And, 1 more week to go! That's when I hope that I'm able to really catchup on the last few episodes of the previous season's animes.

5 days of super boring attachment this week had ended. PHEW~ It's been a torture... Trying to keep myself awake after lunch from Monday to Friday this week. Haha.

Basically, for these 5 days, there's almost nothing to do after lunch, maybe except for the occasional cases that come in like after 30 to 45 minutes of extreme boredom? I think that after lunch, it would be just time for me to prepare myself for knocking off at 4.30pm.

Well, after the first day there, I've found a way to keep myself entertained- by going to the CT/MRI area. Even though I'm of no help there, but at least I get to help the patient get up/down the couch and maybe look at the Sister draw the contrast medium and the radiographer clicking on the computer.

Bakemonogatari

The first 12 episodes of Bakemonogatari has aired and right now I'm looking forward to the next 3 episodes which will be aired on the official website.

Episode 12 of Bakemonogatari, Tsubasa Cat Part 2, is actually about the relationship between Senjougahara (finally appearing after 3 episodes, missed her sarcastic remarks on Araragi. haha) and Araragi. But Senjougahara is acting really strange in the start of episode 12.

What's up with her hair?

After which, she asked Araragi-kun out for a date. (Now you know why) On the way to the secret destination, Senjougahara did the usual things... Freaking out Araragi, sarcastic remarks on Araragi and so on.

Here's the secret destination and activity.... Stargazing.

From this point onward, it's just as what the lyrics in the ED means.

"Are ga deneb, altair, vega.

And so, Bakemonogatari comes to an end. A sweet ending. Hey wait. That's not the end. There's 3 more episodes. But it feels just like an end.

timeshare call = getting screamed at call?!

I received a call from some advertising company at 6.36 pm just now, and since I know that it was going to be a waste of time to listen to their crap, I said that I'm busy and usually the caller would say something like ok, thanks for your time or something along that line. But, it's different this time round. The caller was persistant, asking me when can she call back. I said that I don't want to participate in it, thinking that it'll shut that person up. The caller didn't give me a polite reply at all. The caller said, " WHAT IS SO DIFFICULT TO LISTEN TO THE INTRODUCTION OF A COMPANY?!" and hung up on me. (I could be her number XXX who rejected her today. haha.)

WTH. How dare you hang up on me. I should be the one getting all worked up over how you mangaged to get my phone number and so on!

I googled the phone number 65368340 and found out that it was from some timeshare company.

DO NOT GO DOWN TO THEIR COMPANY. They are really good at pyscho-ing people into joining. That's what I know. Actually, what I really want is that nobody should pick up the call from 65368340, and make them all pissed off.

Back from Korea~

I returned to Singapore last Saturday, and that's the end of the Korea trip. The temperature there was not what I've expected (18 to 25 degrees celcius), instead, it was quite hot when there's sun, but the wind was rather cooling.

I think that the most memorable part of the trip was horse-riding in Jeju, Jeju Teddy Bear Museum and we spent almost all of Korean Won there (we had to scrimp on our money during the last 2 days there). Haha.

The holidays are going to be over soon. 2 weeks will be gone in a blink of an eye, and I still have not done anything that will be beneficial to me. I still do not know how to get to 2 of my attachment places. Anyway, I'll just take it easy, and see what will come. Haha.

My sis went to Japan on Friday and what irks me the most was that she did not do any research on the things in Japan, and she decided to ask us only on the night that she's flying. I really wonder whether I'll be able to get the things that I wanted from her. I'm pretty sure that my sis don't know numbers in Japanese and those basic things that will be needed in Japan. Haha. But anyway, maybe I'm just biased and jealous. Haha.

Hey all, I'll be going to Korea next Saturday for an 8 day trip (I really want to go to Japan, but it's just so expensive. Haiz. I really need to save up more before I can go to Japan). I really hope that I'll be able to enjoy the trip since it's the last few days before clinical starts. BUT, I know nothing about Korea, except that there's Kimchi and spicy food there. Haha.

Sony Ericsson T707

My new phone arrived a few days ago, and I'm loving it! I've been considering between T707 and W705 , but eventually I picked T707. W705 has wifi, while T707 is a pretty much simple phone, I've figured that I don't really need the wifi, and thus I bought the T707.

I've read in some forums that T707 is a very simple phone and that it's so simple that you don't really know how to use it. Well, I really agree with it. It's so simple that I don't really know how to use it. Haha. But, after getting used to it, it's just the same as any Sony Ericsson phone.

The downside to it is that the memory stick micro (M2) and the cable to connect the phone to the computer is not included inside the package. Well, I managed to dig out a cable to connect the phone to the computer but, I still do not have an M2. Haiz. Guess that I'll just have to make do with the puny 100mb of internal memory for now.

Deneb, Altair, Vega

It's been raining these few days, and the skies were so cloudy. I've been trying to look out for the stars Deneb, Altair (Hikoboshi-sama) and Vega (Orihime-sama) at night in vain, due to the overcast sky.
